Acquired and Traumatic Brain Injuries

Interserve Healthcare has substantial experience supporting Service Users with varying levels of brain injury.

We recognise that the most common effect on an individual with an acquired brain injury, whether subtle or severe, will be changes to their everyday behavior. It is for this reason that we adopt a strong focus on supporting the Multi-Disciplinary Teams incorporating their rehabilitation management plans into our care, to allow each individual to return to living as full a life as possible following their injury. Our aim is to equip the service user and their family with the right tools to help them cope with the changes in their lives.

We can support patients in the transition from inpatient to returning to their family or moving into their own home. In these circumstances we understand that in order for them to continue making progress, a bespoke and structured support plan will be required, involving guidance and input from therapists and other healthcare professionals.

How we support our ABI & TBI clients

Interserve Healthcare will carry out a comprehensive assessment on all of our brain injury clients that is focused on their requirements, abilities, clinical needs, hopes and desires.

Interserve Healthcare can support each client to achieve these goals by;

  • Motivating and supporting activities of daily living such as personal care, shopping, finances and attending appointments
  • Clinical support, such as tracheostomy care, seizure management or medication administration
  • Working with the Multi-Disciplinary Team, including Neuropsychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists  and Case Managers
  • Support with executive function difficulties and rehabilitation
  • Motivating and supporting with cognitive activities
  • Support with communication
  • Academic support
  • Encouraging active participation in new or existing interests and hobbies
  • Supporting to fulfill desires such as going on holiday or seeing family and friends more often
