Our Sign up to Safety Pledges

Sign up to safety (SUTS) is a national patient safety campaign with the mission to strengthen patient safety in the NHS and make it the safest healthcare system in the world.

The campaign aims to help member organisations listen to patients, carers and staff, learn from what they say when things go wrong and take action to improve patients safety, helping to ensure patients get harm free care every time and everywhere. The SUTS role is to help organisations create a positive and strong safety culture that will stand the test of time.

What we are doing

  • We are encouraging all staff to sign up
  • We have produced our safety improvement plan
  • We are monitoring on-going progress and measuring outcomes – weekly, monthly and quarterly
  • We have identified our safety improvement projects- Wessex AHSN (patient deterioration); mental health support; handover & discharge; patient safety and the just culture; freedom to speak up
  • We have produced and are committed to delivering our safety pledges
