Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am 27 years old and originate from the historical market town of Shrewsbury. My background started off in the hospitality trade, working for several large chains and the mighty (not so much) Shrewsbury Town FC. I have been with Interserve for nearly 3 years now, having joined as maternity cover for our Community Programmes Team, I am now part of the Business Development sector as a Contracts and Frameworks Co-ordinator for the North, Midlands and East Regions.
Tell us about your role at IHC.
Contracts and Frameworks are a huge part of our business and allow all other areas of IHC to access a variety of new opportunities. We are a fairly small team but have created a good reputation as an integral part of the business. As a co-ordinator of bids, there is great opportunity to be a part of exciting processes for such a diverse market. No two days are ever the same.
What projects are you currently working on?
The bids team have lots of exciting new opportunities underway, so many that listing them would not be fair.
What is your main focus for 2017?
2017 will bring a host of new bids, new opportunities and a bustling work load to suit. The team and I are looking forward to whatever the year will bring.
What are you most proud about achieving during 2016?
Overall, 2016 has personally been a successful year. I feel that I have achieved many personal goals as well as those set out by IHC. Having started in the role 18 months ago, I have learned a huge amount and plan to continue this throughout the years to come.
What is the best thing about your role?
I enjoy studying the market and developing how we bid for new opportunities. I am extremely interested in the values of these opportunities and seeing a large value at the bottom of the page often drives me to make sure our submission is great.
