SIMON Ellis-Robbins has won the Greater Manchester branch's Interserve Healthcare carer of 2017 award.
The senior healthcare assistant received a certificate and £40 voucher in recognition of his efforts from Registered Manager Vicky Judge.
Simon, who has worked with IHC for nine years, said: "It's obviously very nice to have your work appreciated and makes me feel like a valued member of the team.
"It's a tough job, there are good days and bad, but the good days are genuinely rewarding. I like the variety involved in the Baxter contract, the range of care needs and experience I get."
Simon is often put on new care packages to help assess needs and is also responsive to covering care packages at short notice in emergencies. This flexibility has resulted in him travelling as far afield as the Isle of Wight to provide cover.
Vicky said: "Simon richly deserves the praise. He is an excellent health care assistant, and his willingness to pick up shifts on the last minute makes him invaluable.
"He has a great relationship with his clients, is totally reliable and is a great member of staff."
